Conversations with Grief

This Pull a Card page features the cards from the Conversations with Grief Deck.
To use this page, Jen recommends the following:
  • Find a quiet, low-stimulating space where you can focus on the card that comes up

  • Bring in any comfort items like a sweater, blanket, tea, water, stuffed animal, a pet, etc. if that feels good to you.

  • Bring in any ritual or spiritual items or items connected to your grief or loss if that feels good to you.

  • Ask your ancestor/s, spirit team, angels, or other entities you work with to show you the card that you need to see

  • Pull the card when you're ready. Feel free to journal, make art, sing, talk to a friend, watch/read/listen to something or anything else that connects you with the card that comes up.

Notes
  • If the card you pull does not resonate with you, feel free to click on the card to shuffle again.

  • If the card you pull is triggering or activating for you, please take care of yourself. Now may not be the time to work with this question or with this deck and that's ok.

  • Grief can make it hard for our brains to brain so if you can't answer a question right away, take a screenshot or otherwise save the question to come back to it. Take all the time you need to process the question grief has for you.

  • If the card shuffler does not work for you, please make sure your browser supports javascript, refresh your browser, clear your cache, and if all else fails, email me at abejarise (@) gmail.com.

  • If you enjoyed using this offering, please consider subscribing to the Abeja Rise Substack newsletter with either a free or paid subscription.

Honeybee alebrije designed by Laurent Corralez.

I acknowledge that the land on which I live and work is the traditional territory of the Tongva people, who have lived in and cared for this land for thousands of years. I honor their enduring connection to this land, their culture, and their contributions to our community. I recognize the ongoing impact of colonization and commit to supporting Indigenous sovereignty and the rights of all Indigenous peoples. As I move forward, I strive to foster a deeper understanding of the history and culture of the Tongva and to work towards reconciliation.
